Police Station

If the police question you about an offence, even if you have not been arrested, you have the right to free legal advice, no matter what your income or savings.

Our keen and experienced solicitors are available 24 hours a day, either to give advice by telephone, or to represent you at the police station.

Court

Whether you are charged or summonsed for an offence, you can apply for Legal Aid to cover the costs of proceedings in court. This is known as a Representation Order.

The court will decide whether it is in the "interest of justice" for you to be represented. The court takes into account the seriousness of both case and the potential consequences for you, as well as the complexity of your case or any problems you may have understanding the proceedings.

The funding is also means tested. The Court will take into account your income and certain financial obligations.

If a Representation Order is refused or unavailable, then we can discuss the likely cost of our services before you commit yourself to instructing us.

We shall strive to protect your rights and interests at court, and ensure you receive a fair hearing and the best possible outcome.

We are 'Community Legal Services' franchised and members of the Duty Solicitor Scheme.

We deal with with all types of criminal defence work but specialise in high profile and complex cases where a commitment to time and detail is required and where a robust approach is often necessary to protect the Client's interests.

The team is headed by Caroline Salvatore, a partner, who has a wealth of experience in criminal defence. She is ably assisted by solicitor Lynda Hodgson.
