Dunn and Baker are delighted to congratulate Legal Executive Melissa Down, member of the Private Client Department, on her recent admittance as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
Melissa has been working in the Private Client Department at Dunn and Baker for the past five years. She completed the academic stages, firstly completing the HND in Legal Practice with distinction at Exeter College prior to joining Dunn & Baker. Melissa continued her study through ILEX tutorial college distance learning courses, specialising in Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) level six subjects including Law of Succession, Land Law, Equity and Trusts and Probate Practice.
Having, this year, completed the relevant five years of qualifying employment, with Dunn and Baker Solicitors, Melissa has been admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
Melissa comments "Qualifying as a Legal Executive lawyer is the product of a lot of hard work, time and commitment as I studied my specialist subjects whilst working full time. For me the route of training to be a Legal Executive lawyer has been the most accessible route to a qualification in law. It has allowed me to work full time, gaining valuable practical experience whilst also the necessary professional legal knowledge."
On behalf of the Partners, Nick Penwell, Partner and Head of the Private Client Department, congratulated Melissa on all her hard work. He commented; “In the years Melissa has been with Dunn and Baker she has received favourable feedback from numerous clients. She has contributed greatly to the development of the Private Client Department and the firm as a whole. I’m sure her career will continue to flourish as the firm grows.”
